I didn’t know what macabeo was, so, after looking it up on the web I saw it is a racy and spicy wine grape that grows in the French Languedoc and Spanish Rioja regions. It is also used to make sparkling cava. Sounds interesting – anyone ever try that?
When I opened the bag I couldn’t believe how may rose buds there were, even a lot of rose and blue mallow flower petals. It smelled of aged grapes with some floral notes to it. The wet leaves had a grape aroma as well. The taste had a full feel and a muscatel taste. There was, however, an odd aftertaste.
